Kara Collacott
Kara Collacott studied abroad during the course of her academic tenure. Pursuing a double major that included studies in business economics, Kara Collacott received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Spanish in 2008. In addition, Kara Collacott received a TEFL certificate, qualifying her to teach English as a second language to students who primarily speak Spanish. She possesses oral and written fluency in Spanish. Following the completion of her education, Kara Collacott served as a Tax Preparer with Liberty Tax Service in 2009. Ms. Collacott assisted clients in filing tax forms, as well as creating tax planning strategies. Kara Collacott also functioned as a Sales Associate at RadioShack Corporation, assisting customers with technological merchandise and educating patrons about the products they purchased. Kara Collacott also helped to manage the store’s inventory and served as a cashier. Actively involved in her community, Kara Collacott participates in fund-raising efforts for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A marathon runner with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, endorsed by Team In Training, Ms. Collacott sought sponsorship in order to raise money for the annual racing event. Kara Collacott’s dedication to her community also extends to her work as a volunteer for the Second Harvest Food Bank, Kaiser Permanente, and Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP). As a bilingual individual, Ms. Collacott has volunteered her interpretive services as a poll watcher with the Registrar of Voters. In her leisure time, Kara Collacott enjoys traveling and participating in outdoor activities, such as camping and snowboarding. Kara Collacott continues to run as a form of exercise and practices Bikram yoga.
