Christina Karafyllidi
Yoga Teacher, Student, and Pre-school Teacher in Berlin
Making these sorts of introductions always feels a little forced and rather terrifying, I’m sure you know what I mean! On the other hand, it’s important to me that you know who I am in order to see if we could potentially work together.
I was introduced to yoga as a student, while preparing to become a PreSchool Teacher in Greece. I started my Yoga Journey in 2015 by practising Vinyasa and Acro-Yoga. Over the years I was engaged on Asthanga and Nidra Yoga and in 2020 I completed my HAtha-Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training of 200hr (RYA) at Aadi Yoga School in Risikesh, India. Since then I started to take my first steps as a yoga teacher by guiding private classes and offering yoga practises at parks . In September 2021 and till now I started teaching at English Yoga Berlin as a “cover” teacher and also as an assistant to promote events/workshops. In Mai 2022 and till now I started offering classes at “Yoga Tribe” studio in Berlin.
In 2021, I was thrilled to form my yoga classes with the concept of a small community where everybody feels safe and familiar to each other .In October 2021 made my thoughts come true and I started offering my own classes at Heilehaus in Kreuzberg. Other bricks that make up the house that surrounds me today, parallel to my yoga plans, and include her Master in Art Therapy with the intention to link art therapy and yoga, since both of the approaches require kinesthetics, focus, and paying attention to the present moment. I am a book worm, a music fanatic of many varieties, a huge fan of Nature &Bouldering, and a bedroom/kitchen/train station kind of “dancer.”
My teaching follows the Yama (Ahimsa: nonviolence) of Patanjali’s writing in Yoga Sutras. Ahimsa’s purpose is to meet you exactly as you are in this moment, whatever your individual challenges and aspirations might be and empower you to move forward, one step at a time, one day at a time, one breath at a time, towards a greater experience of health, happiness and wholeness.
