I have been teaching martial arts for over 45 years and was one of the last students to receive his 10 Dan from GM Peter Urban with the Goju Hall #010.
In 1964, I began studying in the Korean Art of Tae Kwon Do and began researching different arts. I changed my focus and training to
Shotokan with Tommy Torres in Brooklyn. I was browsing through martial arts
magazines where I came upon Master Peter Urban and found his teachings fascinating. In 1966, I began training with Master Urban in USA Goju Ryu. Hanshi
Diaz remained loyal to Grand Master Urban until his death in 2004.
Throughout the years, I also trained under many great martial artists such as Grand Master Chaka Zulu in Nisei Goju, Grand Master Ron Van Clief, Master Louis Delgado and Master Frank Ruiz. I also hold a 5th Dan in Chinese
Goju and Aiki Jitsu . I has received hundreds of awards by my piers including
Various Hall of Fames, Proclamation from Senator Jose Peralta, and numerous

I currently teach in Queens and the Bronx in New York and consider myself a "kata" man. I take the martial arts very serious and am a traditionalist with training methods of the old school Japanese. However, I is open minded to today's sport aspect of the martial arts.
