Karel Rode

Karel is a transdisciplinarity Information Security Professional and a CISSP.
He brings together the various skills that he have mastered over the last 20 years to positively influence his career in the IT Security, Risk Management and Privacy areas.
Karel's broad knowledge in the areas of Payment Card Industries Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Security Incident Response and Risk Management and Security Information and Event Management serves him well in his current positions.
He has competencies in Perimeter Security, Threat Management, Identity Management, Access Control, Vulnerability Management and Security Information and Event Management as well as a foundation knowledge in PC and Network based forensics inclusive of some better known commercial tools and open source applications.
As a keen learner he spend much of his time investing in the information security arena, where he currently a director of the Information Security Group of Africa and have just acted as the convener of a CISSP study group for those that prepared for the May 2011 exam and more recently delivered the IP3 sourced CISSP boot camp in Johannesburg.
