Karen Morrow
South Coast NSW
I am an emerging writer from the South Coast of NSW.
I have worked in the social and community legal sector for over fifteen years, specialising in project management and sector development.
With unique experience in both criminal and family law support, I bring insights about people, human rights and natural justice to my work as a writer.
My lifelong passion for the environment influences both my fiction and non fiction work, which often interweaves themes of the ocean and coastal life. I am interested in people's personal interaction with the natural environment and with each other. My specialist genre is Creative Non Fiction.
I have been published in several literary journals including Great Ocean Quarterly, Habitat magazine and Writers Edit. Some short stories are being anthologised in 2014.
In my first year of public writing ( 2013 ), I was shortlisted for numerous literary awards such as the Cowley, Shoalhaven FAW and Writers Web literary awards.
As a qualified trainer and experienced facilitator, I am keen to further integrate my social science background with writing in future freelance projects.
