A lawyer in Boca Raton, Florida, Karen Crew joined the Miami office of an internationally active private wealth management bank in 2010 and continues to support the company in the role of senior vice president and in house counsel. In addition to overseeing a number of banking-related legal matters, including regulatory and government stimulus programs, Karen Crew draws on her experience as a lawyer to serve in a legal advisory role on a variety of bank committees. Prior to taking on this role, she was a partner at the Florida-based law firm Ruden McClosky, PA. Prior to moving to Florida, she practiced as a senior associate attorney at Clifford Chance in New York.
Ms. Crew studied English literature and international relations as an undergraduate at the University of Central Florida, where she graduated magna cum laude with honors on the president’s list. She was also the founder and president of the school’s Model United Nations Club.
Ms. Crew continued her education at the New York University School of Law, achieving her juris doctor in 1999. While attending law school, she served as an article and note editor for the NYU Journal of Legislation and Public Policy, and worked on a pro bono basis for the children's advocacy group, Advocates for Children. to provide homeless and foster children with a voice in times of need. She continues to gain inspiration from her community by serving as a board member for the Miami-based Dance Company, Dance Now! Ensemble, and formerly served on the board of the Florida Breast Cancer Coalition. Her most recent interest is advocacy for children with disabilities through the Family Cafe network.
