Karen Hielscher is an Educational Designer and Technologist in higher education experienced in design and development of learning experiences, assessment resources, and workplace training. She is a certified developer with skills in the curriculum design, delivery and assessment in higher education. She is currently working in Indigenous Health Education and the Education Development Unit of the Faculty of Medicine and Health at University of New South Wales and has specialised in leading service to the School of Optometry and Vision Science and Centre for Big Data Research in Health.

Karen has held the role for the past 5 years. She is recognised as a leading contact for AI in education for the faculty and has collaborated with educational developers in Engineering to establish a UNSW community of practice online. Karen has designed and delivered professional development programs for online teaching and interactive learning with Articulate Storyline and H5P.
