Karen Scobey

Nashville, TN

I've always been curious about the way things work. Since I was young, I'd always try to pry things apart to see what made them tick, and try to rebuild them back together - sometimes, even more efficiently than before.

Things haven't changed much since then - my passions still lay in trying to pull things and concepts and people apart to see what makes them what they are. I'm an analyst by nature, a problem-solver by default, and an artist on the side. A leader in training, with a little tweaking still to do.

I spend my days in healthcare IT as a business analyst (i.e. problem solver), and spend my free time as an IT mentor for high school girls in local public schools, as a board member for Nashville-based non-profit Strings for Hope, a half-marathon runner (in training!), a ukulele player, an amateur chef and a dog-mom to the world's greatest, albeit most hyper, mutt in the world.

My goals, in the shortest form possible, are to never stop learning and to never stop teaching. Also, maybe travel a little bit!
