Earning a BA in accounting and information systems at the City University of New York, Queens College, Ms. Auer began her career as a savings bank staff member. She accepted a position with Armao, LLP, as senior accountant in 1998 and ultimately attained a leadership position in the firm. Recognized in her field, Ms. Auer maintains New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants membership and is featured in the Who's Who of Professional Women, selected by the Long Island Business News.
Karen Auer maintains a strong community presence and has served as trustee of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New York. She also volunteers with Birthday Wishes and formerly served on the board of Women Economic Developers of Long Island.
