A Marietta, Georgia native, Dr. Karen Whitfield earned both her undergraduate degree and Master’s degree from the University of Georgia. After receiving her M.S. in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, she went on to earn her Doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the Arizona School of Health Sciences.

For 15 years, Dr. Whitfield owned and managed a private practice in Leesburg, Georgia, that specialized in Clinical Audiology, Industrial Noise Engineering, and hearing aids for the adult and pediatric population. She was also previously employed by the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital’s Neurodiagnostics Department and the UGA Hearing Aid Clinic.

Dr. Whitfield is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language Association. She was also a member of the Georgia State Licensing Board for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from 1992 to 2000.
