Karen Costner Blackney

Kara Costner Blackney is a criminal defense attorney and founder of Blackney Law LLC in Ohio, bringing over a decade of courtroom experience from juvenile advocacy, public defense, and private practice. A 2010 University of Dayton School of Law graduate, she built her career at the Montgomery County Juvenile Court, the Hamilton County Public Defender's Office (Guardian ad Litem and Municipal divisions), and the Law Office of Arenstein and Gallagher before founding her own firm in 2024. Known for aggressive pretrial motion practice and an undefeated record before the First District Court of Appeals, Ms. Blackney now advocates for clients facing criminal charges across Ohio.
