Karen Hartstein

St. Louis, MO

Karen Hartstein is very passionate about giving. She believes that it is our job as human beings to help those who are less fortunate than we are live normal and productive lives. That's why helping others is so important to Karen Hartstein and why it's a very large part of her life.

For more than 10 years Karen Hartstein worked at the Larry Rice's Homeless Shelter in her hometown of St. Louis. She began her tenure in charity by serving dinner at this homeless shelter on Christmas day.

Because of Karen's ambition, after a couple of years of volunteering the shelter asked Karen Hartstein if she would assist in taking some of the homeless on errands to do things like get medication and go to doctor appointments if they were sick. Outside of this, Karen was a driving force in helping sick children that were born to crack mothers with the shelter as well. Karen would take the children to the hospital for important doctor's appointments and really made it possible for many of these children to have a future.

Charity and philanthropy are extremely important to making sure that our society works properly, and that's part of the reason why Karen Hartstein is so passionate about them.
