The President and Founder of North Coast Laser Aesthetic and Liposuction, Inc., Dr. Karen Mihalik established the practice in 1993. A trained and licensed professional in obstetrics and gynecology, Karen Mihalik changed her focus to cosmetic procedures and gained her training in liposuction with the top centers in Coral Springs, Florida. Under her direction and guidance, North Coast Laser Aesthetics and Liposuction was the first office in northeast Ohio to provide innovative liposuction services using SmartLipo and Vaser, a liposelection technique.

An expert in SmartLipo and Vaser, Karen Mihalik, M.D., has attended numerous speaking engagements to inform and educate other medical cosmetic professionals about the techniques. SmartLipo is currently the only laser-assisted lipolysis system that offers a minimally invasive approach to removing fat, using a high-powered laser and a small tube that is inserted into the subcutaneous tissue of the skin.
