Ms. Murphy built her first website in 1996 to promote the peace process in Northern Ireland, and has been using the Internet to lead online organizing efforts for political and advocacy campaigns ever since. Locally, she is leading efforts to build financial, grassroots and online support for Hillary Clinton’s current presidential campaign in Maryland (MoCo4Hillary.com).
Prior to joining BNR, Ms. Murphy served as Communications and Outreach Director for the Global Cool Cities Alliance (GCCA), a start-up non-profit working with cities, researchers, and NGOs on climate adaptation strategies. She previously served as a digital outreach and environmental staffer to U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski.
Ms. Murphy earned her bachelor’s degree in international development from Michigan State University where she was active with the Peace Education Center, and lives with her family in a Maryland suburb outside Washington, DC.
