Karen Trahan

Somerville, Massachusetts

I am a woman, a woman that grew up with three wonderful big brothers, a woman that never had a sister, a woman that always wanted a sister, a woman that believes that life would have been different, perhaps better, with a sister, a woman that has been privileged to be married to the man she loves for over three decades, a woman that gave birth to two daughters and is grateful that they have a sister, a woman that gave birth to a smart, talented, kind son. I am a Pediatric Certified Registered Nurse, Certified Pedicatric Emergency Nurse, with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in the science of nursing, working in a major Boston hospital in the pediatric critical care setting. I love animals, cats and dogs, and have been blessed to have been owned by some special pets. I have no tolerance for incompetence or injustice. Apparently, my intolerance for incompetence and injustice is growing rapidly. I was a daughter, I am a sister, I am an aunt, I am a mother, I am a wife, I am myself. I have a cross to bear, as many do. I pray for strength, courage, forgiveness.
