Directing:
Karen is thrilled to be directing the world premier of Shelagh Stephenson's new play “Astell and Woolf” at Live Theatre Newcastle this Spring.
She is currently in rehearsals for Lawnmowers Theatre Company's 40th Anniversary production “Billy and Teddy's Amazing Adventure”, playing at Live Theatre in February 2026.
Her production of ‘Tiny Fragments of Beautiful Light’, by Allison Davies, was produced in 2023 at Alphabetti Theatre. It received widespread audience and critical acclaim.

Since then ‘Tiny Fragments’ has been supported by Arts Council England to tour nationally to venues including Derby Playhouse, Chester Storehouse and Birmingham Rep.
Other directing credits include: ‘Mosquitoes’ by Lucy Kirkwood' for Royal Birmingham Conservatoire at The Crescent Theatre, ‘Nasa Lies', by Elijah Young, ‘The Sky Sings’, by Allison Davies, 'Christmas Carol', by Steve Byron and site-specific ‘Night Trade’ all for Alphabetti Theatre.
She was recipient of the JMK Leverhulme Bursary to assistant direct ‘The Snow Queen’ at Northern Stage. She returned the following year in the same capacity with "A Christmas Carol'.
Acting:
Karen is represented by Byron's Management and recently appeared in Tombola's “Im a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here” Christmas Ident.
She read the audio version of Sally Magnusson's latest novel ‘The Shapeshifter’s Daughter', published by Hachette.
She can currently be seen in Laugh Lesson: 'Becoming a Karen', on BBC THREE and iPlayer.
Karen played Doreen in Allison Carr’s ‘A Street Like This’ by Unfolding Theatre winning a Journal Culture Award in Sept 2023 for Best Performance.
