Karianne Hawkins

Karianne Hawkins is a first-time author and ardent beach lover. She has spent every one of her 41 summers at the beach in Delaware and has developed a huge reservoir of experience from which she draws in Beach Etiquette. In this book she demonstrates her passion for the beach and her desire to help everyone enjoy their trips there just a little bit more.

As a child, Karianne’s family moved nine times as required by her professional football coach father’s career. In spite of the constant uprooting, the family always found time each summer to return to the DelMarVa peninsula and the beautiful beaches there. Eventually her parents followed their dreams and built the family a house just yards from the beach in Delaware, giving Karianne a home-away-from home at the beach she loves.

Karianne also continued with the family business and works in the administrative offices of a professional football team. While many people dream of having a job in sports, for Karianne the best part of her job is the five weeks of vacation the football season affords her every summer to return to her beloved beach, where she deepens her knowledge and hones her beach etiquette expertise to the sound of the waves crashing.
