Karim Alvizo

Born in Cd. Mante, Tamaulipas Mexico, Karim Alvizo grew up surrounded by nature and an artsy environment. Starting at an early age, Karim was involved in theatrical arts, music, painting and swimming. Influenced by his mother, he followed her creative steps into an art oriented life-style, always keeping in mind his dad’s best instructions for a business-mind foundation.

In Mexico, Karim studied 3 consecutive years of Technical Drawing (Dibujo Tecnico Sec. A). Earning enough experience in visual architectonic compositions, parallel to freehand drawing techniques. During his free time, he participated in state-wide musicals and local plays. Born and raised in a folkloric cultural society, and transitioned to a multi-cultural fast-paced country Karim has learned that the need of a strong root to a purpose is essential for a positive long-lasting result. With his early art background in hands, he graduated from The Art Institute of Houston with a BFA in Interactive Media Design and an award winning portfolio showcase. http://www.synergu.com

Karim is starting his Masters of Fine Arts at the University of Houston in Interdisciplinary Practice and Emerging Forms (IPEF) to study and research art-making as a series of approaches supported by theory, analysis and conceptualization.

As a photographer, he is currently working in a book titled “People Living the Edge of Society” sponsored by The University of Texas in Austin. The book embraces contemporary photography in environments such as Vagabonds, Death-Row Inmates, and Homosexual Prostitution. A photo-project called "Fatal Love" is in progress too in collaboration with Artist Rey Hernandez. As a Philanthropist, Karim donates school supplies annually to small villages living with lack of resource. He has also tutored the GED and provided English classes to Spanish native speakers.

Currently he works for 4WARD Marketing, as a Web & Graphic Designer. Karim’s goal is simply to help and enjoy the provision… globally.
