Karina Rusk

Karina Rusk is an experienced communications leader, award winning healthcare marketing executive and former broadcast news journalist. Rusk is based in Monterey, California, currently developing strategic communication plans and content for complex organizations. Her expertise encompasses public relations, media relations, government relations marketing, health and wellness initiatives and employee engagement. She is transforming internal communications at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System to integrate a network of speciality and primary care clinics, urgent care centers and a 263-bed acute care hospital. Rusk's career as a broadcast news journalist and anchor included positions at ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS affiliated stations along with contributions to CNN. She spent 13 years with the ABC Network owned and operated station in San Francisco, California, KGO-TV also known as ABC7. Her primary geographic focus from 2000-2013 followed Silicon Valley's innovations, company IPO's, dynamic entrepreneurs, business growth, expanding economy, and impact of the historic recession of 2008. In addition to her extensive background in broadcast news, healthcare marketing and communications strategy, she has served as a media coach for CEO's, politicians and entrepreneurs. Rusk is recognized in many California communities for her volunteer and charity work as a dedicated advocate and event/fundraising emcee for non-profit organizations.
