Karin Braamhorst

I am an art historian. I give lectures and courses on arthistory in The Netherlands. My favorite subject is the connection between art and religion.

In 1994 my first book was published: Ikonen Lexicon, a book on the art of icons. In 1996 the second one: Nederland in de negentiende eeuw - a book with short histories about daily life in The Netherlands in the nineteenth century

I have also published five cd's on different arthistory subjects.

The first was a lecture on the sense and nonsense of The Da Vinci Code, in wich I investigate the arthistorian tales that Dan Brown filled his book with. Sometimes the true stories behind the art are much more interesting... The same goes for the second cd I made, about the art-stories in Dan Brown's Angels and Demons.

Other titles are: The story of Mary Magdalen, The story of the Sistine Chapel ceiling by Micheangelo and the Story of the Birth of Christ. These cd's come with a booklet with pictures.
