Kari L. Petersen

Legal Assistant in Grand Rapids, Michigan

I have had the privilege to work at Varnum LLP as a legal assistant since August of 2013. I support the Employee Benefits practice group in Grand Rapids and occasionally dabble in corporate and tax matters.

In the spring of 2012, I completed my Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Paralegal Studies at Davenport University and am happy to be using my education in real-life practice. During my time at Davenport, I completed an internship with the Kent County Corporate Counsel's Office; was nominated to the Dean's List; and was inducted into Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX), an honor society founded by the American Association for Paralegal Education.

I had previously earned my Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Western Michigan University and someday hope to continue my education with a CEBS certification or a master's degree in taxation.
