Karishma Nair

A food and travel enthusiast by nature and followed by a passion for writing and sketching, I started off my career as a Credit Manager with a leading bank in India – Kotak Mahindra Ltd. I graduated in 2012 from the University of Bristol in Economics and Finance. At present I work as a Digital Marketing Specialist with an Education Start-up called CrackVerbal.

Allow me to explain these sudden shifts and diversity that you see in my career. My affair with Finance dates back to school times which persuaded me to continue my Masters degree at Bristol. I worked as a Credit Manager in the Banking industry for 1.5 years. Creativity came to me in the form of short-stories and charcoal sketching. I knew I had a greater calling in life and that my creativity in Finance would be restricted only to numbers. It was a huge risk and gamble that I was making with my career but the decision to diversify into Marketing was already made.

In 2014, I joined CrackVerbal as their Marketing Specialist. In 3 months I took over the entire Marketing function of the company. Yes, my risk yielded me a profitable ROI. Today, I am also a social media enthusiast and spend most of my time blogging and marvelling about the rise of digital media. The Writer in me writes inspiring content for my company’s blog and the Artist within gets a chance to design and monitor brand communications.
