Karissa Jade Munoz

Claremont, California, United States

I will expect a BA in both Biology and Spanish from Claremont McKenna College in 2016. I plan to pursue a Ph.D in Molecular Biology and I am currently performing undergraduate research for Dr. Wiley at the Keck Science Department in Claremont, California. We are investigating the regulation of histone H3 proteolysis in Tetrahymena thermophila.I am also working this summer (2015) with Dr. Vanderpool at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on the effect of cryptic prophages in E. coli and phage infection. I have also studied Spanish history and literature abroad in Salamanca, Spain. My ultimate goal is to find a job where I can combine both my love for the Spanish language and Biology!
