Karissa Vassallo

Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, Karissa always had a love of music in her heart. It was a surprise to no one that she ultimately wanted to pursue a career in the music industry. Following a semester at New York University's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, she founded Read Between the Grooves, a music blog dedicated to live reviews, interviews and concert photography. In the fall of 2012, she began interning at the headquarters of Musicians on Call - a non-profit that brings local as well as established musicians to the bedsides of patients in area hospitals.
She will be attending Drexel University in the Fall, majoring in Entertainment and Arts Management.
