I am Principal of Initial Ministerial Education at Cumbria Christian Learning where I also teach in the areas of biblical studies, Christian spirituality and study skills.

My research specialism is the Old Testament, and I have published on the book of Amos and Old Testament prophecy more generally, the Song of Songs, the Psalms, Genesis 1–2, rhetorical criticism, and speech-act theory.

Currently, I am working on a book provisionally entitled ‘Rejected Saviours: Fresh Perspectives on Asylum Seekers and Refugees’. Another research focus concerns the Song of Songs, spirituality and sexuality.
