I was born In Lübeck, Germany but started school in Canada, growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Before my retirement in 2014, I was Professor and Graduate Chair in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Saskatchewan. Now, as a Professor Emeritus, I am still a member of the University's College of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies and am available to serve on thesis committees (via email and video calls). Here in Australia, I participate in research seminars at Monash University and University of Melbourne, as well as various regional Zoom seminars.

In addition to the philosophical pursuits mentioned on my university webpage (click on "Company Website" above), I am interested in children's mathematical education, history, archaeology, linguistic prescriptivism, typography, astrobiology, and futurology.
