I was born In Lübeck, Germany but started school in Canada, growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Before my retirement in 2014, I was Professor and Graduate Chair in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Saskatchewan. Now, as a Professor Emeritus, I am still a member of the University's College of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies and am available to serve on thesis committees (via email and video calls). Here in Australia, I routinely participate in research seminars at Monash University's School of Philosophical, Historical, & International Studies, as well as various Zoom seminars.

In addition to the philosophical pursuits mentioned on my academic webpage (click on "Company Website" above -- there's also a link to a snapshot of my old webpage), I am interested in children's mathematical education, history, archaeology, linguistic prescriptivism, typography, astrobiology, and futurology.
