Karla Caicedo

I´m an artist looking for beauty in the less obvious places.Illustration and sculpture are my greatest arts. I´m a designer focused on product and graphic design. I believe everything should be created with people in mind, to make our lives easier and more enjoyable-specially more beautiful. I´m a Mechanical Engineering bachelor from ESPOL since January 2013. My intention is to make a combination with my passion for art and knowledge on engineering to give engineering in Ecuador a more human-center, aesthetic focus, and contribute to education as well.

My past experiences in the industry goes from welding procedures qualification at ASTINAVE E.P. to mechanical design with a contractor, Pernocaucho. Right now I have the pleasure to be part of the Entrepreneurship Center team at ESPOL, leading projects focused on students, specially student clubs.

Although I still have so much to learn, my background helping found and leading the Entrepreneurship Club as Vicepresident, representing my major in the Faculty´s Student Association, and colaborating in the construction of the country´s first solar car to compete on the 1st Latin America Solar Car Race, La Ruta Solar, as a student, has helped me understand the tools that students need to become great profesionals and leaders, as well as the knowledge I need to make a change in mycountry.
