Karla Van Winkle

I’m Karla Van Winkle, a Director of Talent Development based in Chicago, Illinois.

My career has taken a nontraditional path—from high school teacher and administrator to Human Resources leader. That journey shaped how I think about growth, resilience, and what it really takes to build a career.

Today, I focus on talent development, career management, and helping organizations create environments where people can do their best work. I work closely with leadership teams to build practical systems—from performance management to career pathways—that drive both individual and business success.

I’m especially interested in how people navigate change. I’ve experienced career transitions, setbacks, and new beginnings firsthand, and I’ve learned that progress comes down to consistency, adaptability, and taking ownership.

I also contribute to industry conversations around career development and workforce trends, including serving as a subject matter expert on career management.

Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, traveling, and working on home renovation projects.
