Karl Dawson

I've been designing and building websites and intranets for the pharmaceutical industry and local government since 2000. I can lead you through a workflow to suit your needs that will deliver a website that is secure, search engine friendly and that will look great on a mobile phone or tablet.

If you're a designer or developer I can help with the production of HTML5/CSS3 templates and CMS integration. I have been using WordPress since 2005 but have integrated templates into SilverStripe and .NET applications also. I'm also well-versed in web accessibility and web standards and can offer auditing services as a value-add to your projects. Don't turn away a client or sacrifice another weekend because of workload - get in touch!

Achievements:

Our team won awards at the e-Government National Awards 2009 and MJ Achievement Awards for Service Innovations in Health and Social Care 2010 for Suffolk County Council's Activities Unlimited project.

Fun facts:

I'm quite possibly the only front-end developer trained in hostage release and close protection. An odd combination, for sure. Thankfully in 10+ years I've not had to put this into practice in client meetings. One day, Steven Seagal might make a movie about a web guy in the wrong place at the wrong time... I suspect it will go straight to Blu-ray if made.

I'm also interested in permaculture and record my progress at http://creativedescent.com. I completed my Permaculture Design Course in June 2012 under the expert tutelage of Patrick Whitefield and will very shortly begin the Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design.
