Karlene Rickard
Hello, I'm Karlene Rickard. I have over twenty years of expertise as a parent facilitator, trainer and counsellor, working extensively in the UK, USA, Jamaica, Grenada and Trinidad.
I began my career as a science teacher and later went into community work and counselling. As a mother, I have experienced many of the challenges that parents face and I am passionate about helping others to raise their children successfully. As a result, I created the powerful ‘Empowerment for Parents’ programme which continues to change lives and transform relationships.
In response to the growing problem of children failing in inner-city schools, I co-founded KJ Academy, a supplementary school in Leyton, London, where students get a chance to improve their grades. I also established a nursery/infant school in Jamaica where I was running a holistic parenting programme to develop the confidence and self-worth of participating families.
I have published a few books to help you out and give you advice about life and some of my personal experiences.
Especially my best personal story of how after 30 years of being totally paralised; diagnosed with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis... I can now walk and drive. I am prepared to share my story with anyone.
