You could lose weight just by getting rid of those daily fried fries, your usual carbs-filled bread, by going out for runs from time to time or riding your bike more. Simple small changes make for permanent life changes if you know what to change and what to keep. With that being said, if you do have the money and you can afford it and you want fast results and you are motivated then you should go to the gym and buy some supplements and all that, it is very good for you, all I'm saying is you can do without if you can't afford it because of money or time or whatever else.
