Karolyn Garcia

Hey there, I’m Karolyn. I’m a student living in Bronx, New York. I am a fan of music, movies, and reading. I’m also interested in writing, marketing, film, digital advertising, pop culture, and social media.

I have gained experience in the music and entertainment industry as you will see on my resume through numerous internships. My internship with Epic Records in their publicity department allowed me the experience to learn how things work within the publicity department of a major label. I learned how to prepare press clippings for all artists, assisted with event management, and was given the opportunity to pitch a press plan for one of the newer artists. My time at The Orchard allowed me the opportunity to learn about digital advertising for an online digital distribution agency for music and film. I was tasked with audience analysis and organization of their audience catalogs. As an intern with LiveThe.Biz I was tasked with marketing of the panel events as well as helping with anything the CEO & Founder needed during the time of the event, which included set up, introducing him before the event began, assuring guests and panelists had anything they needed, and checking guests in at the door. I have experience with influencer outreach through my internship with the travel tech start up Pommtree.

My current position as the communications managerat Dignity of Children, Inc. has given me experience of not only administrativetasks but also with running an organizations social media, email marketing, andother engagement campaigns. I have taken the initiative to automate most of the operations at Dignity of Children, Inc. making sure that all client relation initiatives are met with speed and consistency. Since I began working here in 2016 the team has expanded and thanks to the new systems me and the CEO worked on the transition has been smooth. Our social media outreach and engagement tactics have grown tremendously and benefited us by allowing us to tap into a whole new market of clients. We have seen an increase in registration from our social media advertising alone.

I believe that I have the know how and drive to excel within any position I am offered. My eagerness to learn allows me to be extremely committed to my work. I am also extremely resourceful and do not have a problem with asking questions to assure that all of my tasks are completed with accuracy.
