Due to my father's job, my family has lived in the United States, England, India, and Thailand. Twelve years ago while living in Northern India, I was introduced to a folk dance called, bhangra, and have been passionate about it ever since. By the time I was thirteen I had been on numerous dance teams performing at national levels.

During the years I lived in Thailand, my siblings and I volunteered at an orphanage. As a sophomore in high school, I translated this frustration into action by volunteering in an early childhood special education class where I spent time with children who are autistic by helping in their academic and recreational activities.

Also, while living in Thailand, I given the opportunity to learn authentic Muay Thai Boxing. Even after moving back to the United States, I continued to practice the sport and traveled back to Bangkok yearly. After eleven years of discipline and devotion to the sport, I earned a professional ranking as a Muay Thai Boxer.

Upon moving back to the United States, I began playing American Football and I excelled rapidly. In high school I was a part of the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. While in school, I won the award for the best defensive-end in the entire league, two years in a row. And to this day, I still hold the record for sacks and tackles for my school.

Due to my life experiences, I try not to take anything for granted. I work extremely hard to excel at what I do and to follow my goals. I look forward to this time in college to learn, grow, reach out to my community in new ways, and to continue following my dreams.
