Karun Sreerama, PhD, is an experienced engineer and business consultant who has functioned in the role of principal at The Asset Management Consultants in Houston, Texas, since 2005. Over the course of his tenure with the organization he successfully discovered, incubated, and coached a number of local small businesses. The Asset Management Consultants team is particularly interested in supporting startups that strive to positively influence the Houston community. Between 2004 and 2015, Karun Sreerama, PhD, also worked as chief executive officer and president of Houston’s ESPA CORP, Inc., a civil engineering and construction management firm he successfully sold to an international corporation.

Karun Sreerama, PhD, previously served as the executive vice president and member of board of directors of Simply Stocks, Inc. which he led and successfully sold to McGraw Hill / Standard & Poors, Inc. in 2003. Prior to that Karun Sreerama served in various technical and leadership roles at PSI, Inc. and Law Engineering, Inc. for about 15 years.

Karun Sreerama holds a master of science in engineering from the University of Roorkee in India (IIT-Roorkee), where he was awarded the University Gold Medal in Academics for Best Student in University. He went on to pursue additional post graduate engineering studies at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom and then earn a PhD in civil engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla. In addition to his engineering degrees, he completed a master of business administration program at The University of Texas at Austin and an executive leadership course at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
