Kassidy Lee McDonald
My name is Kassidy McDonald, and I am an Arizona native born and raised. I have a passion for travel, Spanish and experiencing new perspectives and cultures. I’m currently a sophomore student at Arizona State University studying Spanish and broadcast journalism at The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Currently, I’m interning for MMPR Marketing in Scottsdale, Arizona.
When I was sixteen, I traveled to the Dominican Republic for two months with an organization called Amigos de las Americas and there I lived with a host family, took bucket baths, learned meringue and was one of the only two Americans in a village of 2,000 Spanish-speaking Dominicans.
This experience is what sparked my lust for travel and Spanish. Through journaling my experiences there, I realized that I wanted to become an international reporter.I’m double majoring in Journalism and Spanish because I am working to become an international correspondent in a Latin American based country. I would consider myself bilingual, I have a high proficiency in Spanish and I am constantly pushing myself to become better.
Right now, I’m working hard to continue to harness my journalism skills through perfecting my audio, video editing and writing skills. I’m trying to get in as much experience as possible, so that I can continue to better myself as a journalist.
