I am a forty-something single white female with a highly sophisticated brain that sometimes still gets obsessed trying to remember all the words to the Gilligan's Island theme song. I am a truly fabulous person. I just can't figure out why I'm not rich and famous yet, or why the universe refuses to admit that i indeed the center of it. Sigh. I live with a cat who has a fetish for leather shoes and bare ankles. My lord/master/best friend/fuck buddy/partner in crime lives with his other girl down the street. I'm the author of the soon-to-be-released novel, RED. "Detective Tom Hanson is investigating two horrific murders: a fifty-year old male lawyer and pillar of the community, and a twenty-something female bank teller. Both victims are beaten and mutilated, their tongues cut out and genitals slashed. Detective Hanson has no leads, no witnesses, and no useful evidence. The victims seem to have nothing in common except for a symbol found on one victim’s keychain and the other victim’s tattooed hip. But Hanson has seen the symbol before: on a medallion around the neck of his former partner and lover, Gina Larsen, who left the force in disgrace after her secret life as a part-time professional dominatrix came to light two years ago. Gina agrees to guide Hanson and his current partner, John Griggs, through the fringe world of BDSM in the Bible Belt, where real names are rarely used and almost everyone is keeping some kind of secret from somebody. Another young woman, Cherry Gavin, is left terrified after being raped and beaten by a man she met online. She only knows him by his screen name, Kerberos, and she comes to suspect that he may be the killer stalking the BDSM community. She also fears that he will not stop until he finds her again. Hanson finds himself drawn into Gina’s world as old flames roar back to life. As the trail leads them to Gina’s former master, Quinn Lee, Hanson becomes more and more confused about where the line between love and duty, pleasure and pain, actually lies.
