Kate McConnell

Hi! My name is Kate McConnell, and I am 15 year-old student in high school just trying to make a difference. I have been involved with the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma, but recently decided to take things up a notch, adapting a new program from the United Nations Foundation called GirlUp. GirlUp is a non-profit organization that empowers young women to be leaders in their changing world, by helping young women in other countries through fundraisers, government action, and promoting social issues publicly. Right now, we are working on starting a petition to promote justice through identity in third-world countries. I am working on creating a website that will allow girls (and boys) to have quick links to social and modern-day issues, and see how they, and others, can help. This is something I love doing, and I hope others will too.
