Concert pianist / Jazz pianist and vocalist..
I was born in 1994 to middle class American parents who were physicists.
They were senior in their respective fields which meant they commuted between America and England.
When I was born it coincided with my parents’ move to England. They bought a charming old house in the country within a reasonable drive to Oxford. I recall it being sheer bliss – exactly as my parents were. They were devoted to me spending a large quantum of their leisure time with me – and we always did something fun and interesting. I am an only child.
At the age of four I was seriously interested in playing the piano and it was decided I start lessons with a piano teacher. I showed extraordinary talent – a child prodigy / wunderkind if you like ( I so dislike those words. )
In no way were my parents pushy – they simply encouraged me wanting me to enjoy myself.
At age five and a half I gave my first public performance on a concert stage with a well-known symphony orchestra and a renowned conductor and I finished playing to rapturous applause, a standing ovation and shouts of ‘encore’. I was far too young to take it all in and exactly what it all meant.
From that day on there was no holding me back and I gave many more performances in various parts of the world.
I then started elementary / primary school coincidentally being the same one my two young sisters currently attend. It too was bliss; had very high academic standards but was far from being a hothouse pushing the pupils. It had a myriad of extracurricular activities and sports.
I was a gregarious child and I quickly made friends which was souuper for me being an only child which was lonely at times living in the sticks – but now having friends who came to visit and me to their houses stopped any loneliness and I was in heaven!

And then suddenly my darling parents died.
.
I was immediately taken in by my parents’ closest friends who lived nearby in the UK. I had known them almost since I was born and I was very, very fond of them. They legally adopted me.
