Kate Fitzgerald

I am currently a high school world history teacher and a Third Culture Kid. I was born in the USA, but spent a lot of my childhood living outside the United States. I have lived in Germany, Japan, Thailand and many different states. These experiences have made me very focused on #globaleducation and turning students into global citizens. America's students need to connect with cultures from around the world at a young age.

Along with Global Education I am highly interested in and involved with EdTechnology. I am a 1:1 teacher, which mean each of my students have their own laptop. I believe the future of education is not education adapting to tech, but the other way around. We need to find innovative ways to increase teacher productivity, not replace teachers. I believe in the human experience of face to face education. But that face to face does not necessarily mean being in the same room.
