I am a strong believer in the phrase "A picture says a thousand words". In the past few years I have developed a strong interest in photography. To me, photography is not just taking "good" and "quality" pictures, photography is saving memories. I could go to the park and take 50 photos that would mean absolutely nothing to someone else, but to me those photos serve as a physical memory snapshot of what I was doing that day, who I was surrounding myself with, and what we were doing. When taking a photo I focus on capturing emotion because when I look back at my photos years later I can remember the day much clearer. I don't believe it takes anything special to be a photographer, which is something I learned on a photography trip to India 3 years ago. The photo to the right was taken on that trip where I was able to take hundreds of photos daily that I cherish and have posted all over my room. My pictures are of the people I met, the other students on my trip, food, nature, animals, and much more. Many of my photos may not seem pretty, interesting, or important to someone else, but personally I would never delete a single one of them. Each photo serves as a moment in my life that I wont get to redo, but a moment that I can enjoy for the rest of my life.
