In the course of my 25+ years of design practice, I have been evolving, refining and applying, human-centred techniques to all my work. This human-centred approach to design is also a strong focus in my academic practice, and has assisted me in guiding students in research, design thinking, practice and outcomes across many platforms.

Researching the map of Australia and its many visual representations in brand logos is a passion of mine. This stems from my MDes research, The Graphic Gift: A study of the map of Australia’s visual qualities.

My current PhD research aims to question the notion of branding the nation, through understanding how nationhood is embodied in brand design, using Australia as a case study.
