Kate Gombert
My name is Kate Gombert and traveling is my love, passion and favorite hobby, and second to that, is writing. I love to write and craft stories out of the ideas bubbling in my brain. It is so much a part of my life that I have chosen to pursue English as my collegiate path.
Even though I am only 21 years old, I have a lot of traveling experience under my belt. 16 different countries on two continents, and 21 states in the United States of America. This is an accomplishment I am so proud of and I love to talk about it.
With the start of my senior year in college comes the inevitable firing of such questions as “What are you going to do with your life?” and “What are your plans after college?” And, I’ll be honest, I have no idea what I want to do with my degree. I came into college having less than a clue of what I wanted to do in life. I watched my friends picking majors left and right, convinced that’s what they wanted to pursue for the rest of their life, and I just couldn’t commit to anything with complete confidence.
Because, all I wanted to do was travel the world. I still don’t want to do anything else with my life, but after a year of struggling and fighting with my universities advising team about what path I should take, I settled into our English program, and I have been elated with it since. I have discovered I have a real passion for writing almost anything; poetry, novels, short prose, essays, literary analysis. I am just happy writing.
But, am I, as I have always been, restless. There is a big, bright world out their, begging for us to explore, enjoy and love.
I’m dedicating this blog to be a place where I can share what I know and learn about the places I've never been, and where I can leave some of the tricks I’ve learned to make the most out of whatever trip it is that you could be going on.
My hope is that we can all learn and grow together, and that we can inspire each other to do great things. If you chose to stick around here, or are just passing through, I wish you the best and I hope it’s a fun ride!
