Kate Heidemann
Bethany, Connecticut
Kate Heidemann is a recent graduate of the Music Education program at Western Connecticut State University. She has been playing clarinet for twelve years and is currently working to be a multi instrumentalist. In 2005 and 2009, she participated in the CMEA All State Music Festival. In July of 2008, she traveled to Europe with the United States Youth Ensemble, traveling to six countries including France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany. Along with working as a public school general music teacher, she performs musical theater with Western Connecticut State University, the Bijou Theater, The Bridgeport Downtown Cabaret Theater, and The Newbury Theater Company; shows including Carousel, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, City of Angels, Sweeney Todd, Oklahoma!, Anything Goes, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Guys and Dolls, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Street Scene, and Carmen. Kate also has teaching experience in the marching arts; teaching both marching band and winter percussion for three years at New Milford High School and Norwalk High School. Kate is from the studios of Jo-Ann Sternberg, Kerry Walker, Mark Snyder, and Christopher Cullen.
