St Paul, MN

Catherine (Kate) McManus, achieved her Bachelor of Arts in history from St Catherine University in 2010. St. Kate’s quickly pulled her back in and she is now pursuing a Masters Degree in Library Science. Her career goals include becoming an archivist, which marries her love of history with her passion for library science. After five years working within St Catherine’s Circulation Department, she took a position as a Library Assistant at Inver Hills Community College Library. Supplementing her studies in Library Science and her employment, Kate volunteered at Landmark Center in St Paul where she managed their archival records. She is currently interning at the Minnesota Historical Society's Library where she assists with reference and research.

In addition to her professional and academic development, Kate explores library and archival collections in the U.S., as well as in other countries. Last year, she was granted access to the archives at Westminster Abbey and went on a library tour of Scotland, visiting a broad range libraries and archives.
