Kate Miezis

Having experienced the world of underwriting agencies, insurers, online aggregators and brokers, where I specialised in professional liability, managed portfolios and developed online quoting platforms, it feels like I've come home. I've recently joined Dual Australia, the largest independant underwriting agency in the country. Dual is known for creating markets, not buying them. Which means they are innovative in their approach to insurance and develop products that are relevant to the risks faced by businesses. They give brokers what they want, not tell them what they need.

I'm a spontaneous and dynamic professional with a passion for helping people to step outside their comfort zone and realise their potential.

In my role as Senior Underwriter, no one is more surprised than me at the diversity of the challenges and tasks that I undertake. I'm keen to improve the image of the insurance industry through innovation and have the privilege of working with the most forward thinking people whose attitude to developing new ideas mirrors my own.

In my spare time, I assist my partner in a charter boat business on Sydney Harbour and love dining out at restaurants, catching the latest shows or indulging in overseas travel.
