Kate M James
I hold a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, and am a full member of both the BACP(British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and the BPS (British Psychological Society), abiding by their ethics.
I am fully supervised and committed to ongoing professional development which helps ensure best practice. I have worked with clients in the short and longer term experiencing a range of issues including bereavement, relationship issues, child abuse, domestic abuse, mild mental health disorders including depression and bi polar disorder, self harm, drink problems and addictive behaviours. See my blog for an update of my current courses.
My experience has been gained from working for Swindon Alcohol and Drug Service and Hope Counselling services
I believe I am able to see a bigger picture but also hold an awareness of feelings impacting daily living. Sometimes feelings have no logic, they just *are*.
I speak fluent French having lived and worked abroad during my adolescent years, and also travelled to France and Switzerland regularly whilst working in office roles.
Having an innate wish to see everyone live their lives to the best of their ability together with an understanding of my own difficulties made counselling my chosen path.
I am fully covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance.
