Kate M Washington

I'm in my last quarter of Portland State University's master's in urban and regional planning program. I have a specialization in land use and have nearly completed PSU's urban design certificate as well. My undergrad is in sociology, so I'm particularly well-trained to observe and understand urban communities, the policies that govern their land use planning processes and the design that impacts their public space. I serve actively with the Pearl District Neighborhood Association, which makes it pretty easy to feel passionate about my neighborhood. So passionate that I recently traveled to Japan as a guest of the Japanese government to talk about the PDNA and I regularly welcome Japanese visitors to the Pearl.
