Consultant and author Dr. Kateresea L. Ford draws on over two decades of experience in counseling and business development to provide high-level consulting services to small business owners. In 2012, after having spent 14 years teaching and counseling in different schools, Kateresea L. Ford founded Dr. Kat Ford Consulting Agency to help both individuals and organizations in developing their operations.
Dr. Ford has a bachelor’s in psychology, a master’s in education, and a PhD in Human Services. She started her career as a middle school guidance counselor in Richmond, Virginia, before starting to teach and lecture in universities. She taught introduction to psychology and the individual in society online at Strayer University, and conducted lectures on mental health, effective clinical treatment, and ethics and clinical decision-making strategies at Virginia State University.
In 2003, Kateresea Ford joined Creative Youth Concepts Inc. as a chief administrative officer and was later named clinical director. In her role, she trained clinical staff, evaluated staff performance, and provided clinical supervision, among other responsibilities.
From 2004 to 2015, Dr. Kat Ford served as executive director for teen residential homes in Henrico, Virginia. She was responsible for the establishment of two residential homes for pregnant and parenting teen mothers and directed clinical programs for them. In 2015 she published her first book, which was based on research on the emotional hardships and the effects of early childbearing on urban adolescent mothers.
