Katerina Yakovenko
Dancer, Project Manager, and Mother
Hi, I’m Katerina Yakovenko. I am a Master in Psychology. I graduated from university in 2014. I am extremely sensitive to people and like to analyze a lot of things. I have a very varied experience working with people.
In the past, I have clearly held leading positions in the social environment in which I have been involved: kindergarten, school, university, work.
Then many transformations occurred in my life and consciousness and I moved away from these characteristics in me.
Now I want to remember this side of my personality and perhaps in the future use it in the current social environment.
This is my reason for participating in this course and of course the experience of the English language.
In the past I was the project manager for the provision of medical services to shareholders of an agricultural holding. I had to find an approach and organize the work of 10 different doctors and contact hundreds of clients. A lot of daily communication, responsibility for medical equipment, a lot of paperwork, etc.
In general, a manager is a mix of roles, it is never just one role.
My priority has always been the goal, for the sake of which the whole process is being done, it was difficult for me to delegate anything; I held high demands and standards. Based on my spiritual development outside of work, I am now learning to see the strengths of other people, take into account their vision, ideas, mood, pay attention to the atmosphere, since this still affects the process of achieving goals. I really agree with the expression: if you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.
I like to take other people to a new level of development, show them new facets of their abilities.
In the future, I plan to listen more to other people, remember to notice their strengths and give feedback on it. In short, I gained more wisdom on how to balance between goals and people. This process is very multifaceted, so I prefer to be, in a good way, flexible to situations. if the situation requires establishing an atmosphere in the team, then this is a priority at the moment. If the situation requires a leap in the process, then there is more concentration on the process of achieving the task.
I can’t establish myself as a specialist in a narrow profile, since I’m still looking for myself here in a new country.
