Kathleen M. Burns

I was born in Redwood City, CA and grew up in San Jose. I went to Notre Dame HS, and moved away for college. I later moved back to San Francisco and Berkeley but never returned to the Silicon Valley. I attended college in Cleveland Ohio where I lived for five years, then went to graduate school in San Francisco. I moved to Spokane WA in the early 80's and opened a psychiatric unit there with another nurse. I lived in Spokane for 16 years prior to moving to the Portland OR area where I currently reside.

I enjoy children, and have worked in children's mental health all of my working career. I have been fortunate to have a variety of positions over the years.

I like being outside and being physically active. I paddle on a dragonboat team, like to walk (completed a half marathon last year, Portland Rock n' Roll) and go camping and hiking. I enjoy swimming, biking, and walking on the beach.

I have six children ranging in age from 5 to 31. I have 3 siblings still living, both my parents are deceased.
